A double shooting in a San Antonio garage has left a woman dead and a man fighting for his life in the hospital. Nicole Wells, the 37-year-old who was shot to death, and a second victim, a man who sustained three gunshot wounds, were attacked in the early hours of Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. inside a garage near Espada Cliff close to Loop 410, according to FOX San Antonio. The male victim, 41, was hit multiple times, including in the chest, and was swiftly taken to the hospital with injuries labeled as life-threatening.

Shell casings were found scattered in the grass outside the home, suggesting that a discharging firearm brought sudden death and critical injury. Police are currently on the hunt for the suspect who initiated the gunfire and then disappeared into the enveloping darkness of the night.

Investigators working on the case are stumped, with no apparent motive unearthed so far. "Police say the two were inside the garage when someone walked up and started firing before taking off," reports News 4 San Antonio. The community, meanwhile, has been left reeling from the shocking violence that has pierced through the otherwise routine calm.

The San Antonio Police Department is appealing to the public for any information that could lead to an arrest, as the perpetrator remains at large. They're asking anyone with knowledge of the shooting to come forward, in the hopes that justice may be served for the deceased and the injured man still clinging to life.
