A grisly scene unfolded on the upscale streets of Boston's Back Bay as a woman was stabbed late Sunday night, with emergency responders rushing her to the hospital for treatment, according to WCVB. The Boston Police Department reported to Newbury Street near the intersection with Gloucester Street around 9:45 p.m. after learning of the stabbing incident.
Officials discovered the victim, an adult female, with stab wounds, thankfully, she sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was quickly transported to a local medical facility for care while officers secured the scene, the crime conscientiously taped off as investigators began their inquiry into the night’s violence. A large portion of the sidewalk was cordoned off, and numerous officers were in attendance alongside police vehicles, as per a video taken by NBC10 Boston. Evidence markers were spotted along the crime scene which stretched over parts of the sidewalk and next to a parked car that had its driver side door ajar.
Mysteries still hover around the circumstances that led to the public assault as no arrests have been made thus far, and the police continue their pursuit of answers. As of now, no information has been disclosed regarding a possible suspect or the events leading up to the confrontation that resulted in this act of violence against an individual.
Local authorities are calling for anyone with information to step forward—the Boston Police engrossed in their investigation, a task that is active and ongoing, as they comb through the details of a Sunday night which has gripped the city with more questions than answers. The condition of the victim remains stable, and while the neighborhood of Back Bay is often immune to such perturbations, it finds itself now entangled in an all-too-common American narrative of unforeseen violence, as reported by WHDH.
