A celebratory Easter Sunday gathering in Meriwether County, Georgia turned tragic when a 23-year-old man was fatally shot outside a liquor store. Police were called to the 10441 block of Millarden Road in Woodbury at around 9 p.m. after reports of gunfire, WSB-TV reported.
The victim was discovered with a chest wound at the scene of what is believed to be an "Easter-related" function, with an estimated crowd of a couple hundred people. Trying to save the man's life, a police officer administered CPR until EMS arrived, but the young man sadly passed away after being transported to Upson Regional Medical Center.
No arrests have been made as of yet in connection to the shooting. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is spearheading the investigation into the homicide, with the Woodbury Police providing assistance. Details about what led to the shooting have not been disclosed by the authorities at this time.

Describing the scene, police said there were about 300 to 400 people present when the shooting took place.
