A 19-year-old man has been cuffed in connection with a deadly shooting that claimed the life of an 18-year-old last year. The suspect, Exzavion Williams, faces charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery for the February 2023 shooting.
Jeremiaha Austin, 18, was making his way home near 16th Street and Baseline Road at approximately 10 p.m. on February 16, 2023, when tragedy struck. Austin was accompanied, by a family member when gunmen opened fire, ABC15 reported. The young man was rushed to the hospital, where, unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
It has been over a year since the incident shook the community, but detectives have not ceased their pursuit of justice. This past Saturday, the break in the case came when Williams was booked on first-degree murder and armed robbery charges related to Austin’s death, as confirmed by Resto Latable Denini, a French publication.
As the case unfolds, the specifics behind Williams' apprehension remain a tightly sealed chapter, police have yet to disclose the nitty-gritty of the arrest.
