A 21-year-old man was fatally shot at a Battle Creek apartment complex early Saturday morning. The incident occurred around 5:40 a.m. at the Teal Run apartment complex off Glenn Cross Road, Battle Creek police reported.

Upon arrival, police discovered the young man with multiple gunshot wounds inside the apartment where he was staying, lying with wounds that appeared to be from gunshots. Despite first responders' efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Battle Creek Fire Department, along with LifeCare Ambulance, provided medical assistance, according to Battle Creek, Michigan.

The Battle Creek Police Department indicated that this appears to be an isolated incident, with no other injuries reported and no ongoing threat to the community. The authorities continue to investigate the case and have not released further details about a potential motive or suspect involved in the shooting.

Police are urging anyone who might have relevant information, particularly those who were in the area of Teal Run at the time of the shooting, to come forward. Witnesses are being asked to contact the Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch Authority’s non-emergency line or to submit tips anonymously by calling Silent Observer, with police believing the community is not in danger.
