An 80-year-old woman was killed, and a teenager wounded, during a shootout in downtown San Antonio late yesterday night, when bullets flew amidst a fight between several people, police reported. The elderly victim, who has yet to be identified, was caught in a deadly crossfire on Indianola Street at East Cesar Chavez Boulevard around 10 p.m., as she rode in the backseat of an SUV, KENS 5 reported.
After an altercation among juveniles escalated, a 15-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks, the shooting incident spiraled further, sending bullets spraying down the block and ultimately striking the elderly woman, she was transported to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries, the same violence left the boy hospitalized yet expected to survive, as FOX San Antonio reported.
