Barrow County has found its new administrative anchor in Abril Olivas, who's set to take over as the County Clerk, a role critical for the maintenance of official records and providing executive-level support. Leaving her post as Deputy Clerk in Hall County, Olivas is gearing up to direct her organizational finesse towards supporting the Board of Commissioners and the County Manager starting June 3.
In her current role for Hall County, she handles the intricacies of open records requests, agenda preparations, and provides indispensable administrative support. According to Barrow County Manager Srikanth Yamala, Olivas's high level of skill, knowledge and energy won her the prominent county position. Her diverse background includes an 11-year tenure as a legal assistant in the private sector before her shift into local government.
Olivas's expertise isn't going unnoticed, as she's not only a member of the Georgia Clerks Association but she is also rooted in local education, boasting a diploma from Johnson High School in Oakwood. When reaching out for comment, Olivas stated, "I'm excited about this opportunity, and I look forward to providing the highest quality service to the board, staff and the citizens of Barrow County," as reported by the official Barrow County website.
The appointment signals a fresh page for Barrow County governance, with Olivas at the helm, ready to transcribe her notes of experience across the ledger of county affairs. As the community looks forward to Olivas's input, her past professional chapters suggest that the county's clerical and bureaucratic beat will keep ticking without missing a measure.
