
An Acworth man's brush with death resulted in five arrests, as the Bartow County Sheriff's Office pieced together the harrowing details of a violent encounter. The 32-year-old victim, bearing the scars of gunshots and stabbings, recounted to deputies a tale of being held captive and assaulted before being released to seek medical aid. FOX 5 Atlanta reported the victim's May 26 visit to Piedmont Hospital spawned an investigation leading to the detainment of five individuals linked to this vicious attack.
According to the victim's account, after enduring the brutal ordeal at a residence on Wagon Wheel Drive, he was inexplicably allowed to depart, a decision that likely saved his life. Sheriff's deputies pinpointed the alleged aggressors following his testimony, despite his severe injuries, the victim is expected to make it through, details provided by FOX 5 Atlanta reveal.
The quintet of suspects, all acquainted with the victim in some degree, are now incarcerated at Bartow County Jail, facing an array of serious charges. Jaleyne Elymar Vivas-Blanco, 20, and Jerry Scott Taylor, 42, both from Acworth, have been indicted with criminal attempt to commit murder, among other counts. Joining them are Austin Reed Sedlaczek, 24, charged with additional obstruction; Micheal Charles Wade, 33, hitting a single felony charge for tampering with evidence; and Stephanie Lynn Holbrook, 52, of Cartersville.
"All parties knew each other and no further arrests are expected," Sheriff Clark Millsap stated, signaling a closed circle of suspects in this case.
