Three alleged thieves got more than they bargained for after deputies busted them for pilfering goods worth over $1,500 from a Kohl's store on the Northwest Freeway. According to the information provided by Constable Mark Herman's Office, the bandits, identified as Savannah Shults, Antonette Farmer, and Tracey Farmer, reportedly stuffed merchandise and breezed past cash registers at the retail store before fleeing the scene.
Not long after the theft was reported on May 9, 2024, Herman's deputies sprang into action, spotting the getaway car used by the trio. Conducting a traffic stop after fleeing the scene, law enforcement officials were quick to find the stolen booty during a search of the vehicle. Shults, who was also found carrying Crystal Methamphetamine, found herself slapped with an additional possession charge, according to Constable Herman’s Facebook announcement.
"All three suspects were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail charged with Theft," Constable Herman's Office declared. As if the heist wasn't trouble enough, Shults' day took a turn for the worse when her bond was set at a weighty $5,000 by the 248th District Court. Meanwhile, the Farmer duo got off comparatively light, with each having their bonds set at a mere $100 out of County Court 3.
Shoplifting, rarely a footnote in local crime blotters, has this time brought three individuals squarely into the limelight. Amidst a backdrop of retail theft discussions, this particular incident underscores the relentless pursuit of law enforcement to clamp down on such felonies. The threesome, after ditching the sales desk, now face the music as their day in court awaits.
