Allen's community is buzzing with excitement as a plethora of events designed to bolster unity and celebrate local talent are underway. The city's #AllenStrongerTogether initiative is playing host to a series of happenings this May and June, inviting residents to partake in everything from art festivals to summer luau parties. According to the City of Arlington, Texas, the events are set to showcase the best of Allen's community spirit and provide a little something for everyone looking to enjoy the warmer days.

The Allen Arts Festival, which ran from May 10-12, gave residents a chance to experience exceptional works from local and regional artists, as well as live entertainment and artsy activities tailored specially for children. Not one but two concerts were on the slate for music enthusiasts. The Allen Community Band is set to celebrate springtime with performances including "Overture to Candide" and "Irish Tune from County Derry," as residents were invited "to celebrate Mother's Day early or just enjoy a concert with friends and family," per the City of Arlington, Texas. On Mother's Day itself, May 12, the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra encouraged locals to unfold their lawn chairs and unwind to the tunes of a special concert held in honor of moms everywhere.

Looking poised to quickly pivot to neatly curated events, Allen doesn’t slow down as the month progresses. The Great American Cleanup, originally slated for an earlier date, has been rescheduled for May 18, inviting residents to collectively embrace responsibility for their environment. The Allen Fire Department is also gearing up to deliver life-saving lessons during National Stop the Bleed Day on May 23. High school seniors will mark the end of an era on May 24, as Allen High School's graduation ceremony takes center stage, followed by a Memorial Day Remembrance Service on the same day to honor fallen military service members.

The arts remain a focal point of Allen's cultural offerings as “Bravo!” by the Allen Civic Ballet aims to captivate audiences with classical and contemporary performances on May 25. As May gives way to June, the community has much more to look forward to. A series of summer events will unfold, beginning with a National Trails Day Celebration at Cottonwood Creek Trail on June 1. Residents can move to groove to the Summer Sounds Concert Series, spanning three consecutive Fridays in June, while a Summer Luau at Ford Pool on June 7 promises to be a splash hit with music, games, and swimming.

Mid-June will see the city come together specifically to commemorate Juneteenth with a Celebration Concert featuring the All Funk Radio Show band and plenty of family-friendly fun, as detailed in the City of Arlington, Texas. Later, the "A Patriotic Salute" by the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Allen USA Celebration will wrap up the month with sounds of liberty and explosive fireworks to mark Independence Day.
