A fatal crash took the life of a motorcyclist on an otherwise quiet Friday evening in Washington County. Jacob Gould, 27, of Aloha met his untimely end when his bike struck a median during an attempted pass, according to law enforcement officials.
While navigating northbound on Roy Rogers Road around 9:39 PM, Gould attempted to overtake a Dodge Ram and in a tragic twist of fate, collided with the center median, reported official documents from the City of Tigard. Though a nurse, witnessing the accident, leapt into action administering CPR almost immediately, her efforts could not reverse the grip of death.
Gould, declared dead at the scene, has been recognized posthumously in the community and by those who knew him as a vibrant, young individual snatched too soon from this earthly realm. As per standard procedure, the Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) took over the investigation following the crash, which resulted in the temporary closure of the affected route.
Investigators suspect an excess of speed might have been Gould's downfall. Grieving family members, now having to plan a funeral instead of the next family gathering, were informed of the tragedy as they grapple with a future absent of their loved one.
