According to Action News 5, the 33-hour operation, spanning from May 9 to May 10, was saturated with the presence of state troopers tasked with the spotlighting of criminal activities.
Efforts of Arkansas State Police and allied agencies, which included the West Memphis Police Department, Marion Police Department, and Crittenden County Sheriff's Office, resulted in an impressive tally of citations—372 to be exact, with the Arkansas State Police making it known that the hefty figure encompassed both hazardous and non-hazardous violations. Secure in the bed of their operations, troopers also managed to seize 11 firearms and recovered two stolen vehicles, as reported by WREG.
The sizable confiscation did not end with just illegal weaponry, but extended to illicit substances ranging from fentanyl to marijuana, as per Arkansas State Police's statement. Of the individuals arrested for their alleged misdeeds, 11 faced the serious charge of driving while intoxicated, offering a sobering reminder of the perils lurking on the road, as outlined by FOX13 Memphis.
The operation, which also included pursuit in five instances of vehicles that attempted to flee, was perceived as a proactive safety measure by the community.
