Arlington, Texas just muscled its way 23 spots up the rankings to become the 34th Top Meeting Destination in North America, as per industry leader Cvent's latest release. The city which buzzes with activity in the heart of Texas had previously sat at the 57th slot in 2022, according to the City of Arlington, Texas.
The notable jump is credited to Arlington's strategic location, the recent expansion of its meeting facilities with the addition of the Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center, and the walkability of its Entertainment District. Cvent's recognition positions the city among favorites, no small feat given that over 12,500 cities were assessed on an array of factors like number of nights booked, the total count of unique electronic request-for-proposals (RFPs), and the actual confirmed value for meetings.
Arlington's economic landscape is poised to benefit from this surge within the convention sector, and it's a shot in the arm for the Arlington Economic Development Corporation, which has its stakes set on attracting more bucks to the region. The push for increasing Arlington's visibility and viability as a top-notch meeting hub has paid dividends, yet the city isn't just resting on its laurels.
While most cities vie for a spot on Cvent's list, Arlington's strategic investments and urban planning have set it apart from the crowd. Its continuous rise in the ranks may just be a signifier of bigger, better things to come for Arlington’s economy. Business headlines may soon resonate with the sound of more corporate feet hitting Arlington's pavements for conferences and meetings, much to the delight of local merchants and hoteliers.
