Tragedy struck a quiet Minnesota field when an ATV mishap left three women injured, authorities said. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported that the rollover occurred on a property along 93rd Street, about six miles east of Buckman, MN in Morrill Township. Dawn Monson, 53, of Pierz, lost control of her ATV in a mud puddle and rolled the vehicle, leading to the injuries, as reported by Morrison County.
Neither Monson, nor her passengers, Genoveva Hernandez, 44, of Long Prairie, and Kayla Barthel, 19, of Foley, were wearing a helmet when the vehicle flipped. Transported to North Memorial Hospital by North Air Care, Monson's condition was not immediately known following the May 27 evening accident. The Sheriff's Office, assisted by a slew of local emergency services, reported that the case remains under active investigation.
Hernandez and Barthel were rushed to St. Gabriel’s Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance with injuries that were also unclear, as per the Morrison County. At the scene, various response teams, including the Pierz Fire Department and the First Response Teams from Pierz and MLMB, worked alongside North Air Care and the Mayo Clinic Ambulance, as confirmed by local officials.
