Boston Transit Police collared a young man Monday at South Station on drug charges, officials said. The 26-year-old was nabbed for allegedly possessing narcotics with the intent to distribute them. The arrest, which took place at approximately 4 p.m.
Transit Police discovered that the suspect, whose name has not been released, was wanted on several warrants for various drug law violations when he was being booked. According to the Transit Police's X feed, they determined his additional warrants during the booking process.
5/10 4PM #MBTA South Station TPD officers arrested a 26y/o male for Possession w/Intent to Distribute controlled narcotics. Additionally, during the booking process it was discovered the male had several warrants for various violations of the drug laws.

This arrest is part of a larger campaign by the authorities, to tackle a recurring problem across transit systems nationwide. While the identity of the man taken into custody remains under wraps.
