Cedar Park Embraces New Culinary Chapter as Texas Farmers' Market Moves to Bell DistrictSource: Texas Farmers' Market at Lakeline

Cedar Park, Texas, is about to get a little more local flavor as the Texas Farmers' Market (TFM) at Lakeline plans to uproot and transplant itself into the new Bell District development later this month. In an announcement released last week, TFM disclosed the transition of its market, a staple for fresh produce enthusiasts for over 13 years at its current Lakeline Mall location, to the address of 200 S. Bell Blvd., KXAN reports.

Starting May 25, locals can expect to fill their baskets every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the new TFM at Bell, which not only promises an expansive range of seasonal goods but also enhanced amenities such as free parking, ample greenspace, and shaded community seating, according to information provided by TFM representatives to Community Impact. What's more, the Bell District site is slated to become a bustling hub with a slew of additional retail, dining, and recreational offerings, including a multi-story Cedar Park Public Library set to open its doors later in the year.

Capitals of culture and hubs of agriculture aren't made overnight, but Laura McDonald, Executive Director of TFM, has high hopes for the market's new iteration: "Our Lakeline market has become the go-to farmers' market for shoppers in Northwest Austin, Cedar Park, Leander and the surrounding areas," McDonald stated in a release, signalling a robust backing from a community of faithful patrons and an eagerness to deliver an "improved market experience" at the Bell District.

With the relocation, TFM at Bell anticipates hosting over 90 vendors who will hawk a gamut of goods including fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products, and artisanal fares, enriching Cedar Park's gastronomic canvas, and it doesn't stop there, as every weekend market-goers will be entertained with live music and the second Saturday of each month will cater especially to the young ones with special children's programming, as TFM representatives informed Community Impact. The market also shows its commitment to accessibility by continuing to accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits year-round and Women, Infants, and Children benefits from April through October.

Patrons of the market can anticipate a seasonal bounty with offerings in May including arugula, blackberries, cucumber, and a variety of tomatoes, while June's selection will add succulents like melons, okra, and plums to the mix - a complete breakdown of which is available online for those interested in planning their market excursions with precision, KXAN details. This seasonal spread is just a teaser of the local and fresh repertoire that TFM at Bell aims to offer come the end of May, when the market folds up its tents at the old Lakeline Mall location for the last time on May 18 and roots down in the fertile soil of the Bell District's promising future.
