CenterPoint Energy's mission to replace natural gas lines in select parts of the neighborhood wrapped up, according to a notice released on May 24. Michels Corporation, a contractor authorized by CenterPoint Energy, has completed the heavy lifting on streets including Wisconsin Avenue N. and Orkla Drive, among others. As reported by the company, this phase of the infrastructure revamp is now done and dusted.

With the replacement work behind them, the crews are set to switch gears and focus on cleaning up their act. Restoration work, spearheaded by Q3 Contracting, another contractor with the nod from CenterPoint Energy, will commence in the subsequent weeks. For residents, this means putting up with temporary backfill materials like dirt and gravel for a little longer as Golden Valley's Pavement Management Program churns forward. CenterPoint Energy expressed its apologies for the inconvenience, pledging to fully restore affected boulevards and lawns post-haste.

The interim may not be picture-perfect though, as indicated in the message from the company. Before the greenery returns, residents will spot black dirt, grass seed, and netting that will take about four months to degrade. Locals are encouraged to play a role in the beautification process by watering these areas as necessary.
