Chula Vista's play haven, Sesame Place, is kicking off its sandals for a summer-long party, opening its gates daily for sun-seekers and fans of the beloved children's show. With the temperature rising, the Sesame Summer Splash offers a refreshing escape to families looking to beat the heat from May 24 through September 02. The festivities include a calendar with events like Oscar the Grouch's Birthday on June 1 and a Father’s Day Weekend blowout on June 15-16.
According to an announcement on the official Sesame Place website, guests will be drenched in fun with more than 18 rides, playful water slides, and the debut of Sesame Street characters amidst the Count’s Splash Castle, which now reigns as one of the park's latest water-riffic installations, in addition to an expansive 500,000-gallon wave pool that's big news for tiny swimmers looking for big waves in SoCal. There's no shortage of splash and giggle as the park promises live entertainment and the chance to rub elbows or wings with the whole Sesame Street crew.
Adults with nostalgia and kids with energy to burn will find Sesame Place's doors wide open on 2052 Entertainment Circle. Whether to cruise through a lazy river or take a more thrilling spin on a family-friendly roller coaster, every day promises a cheerful jaunt into the world where the air is sweet. Attractions abound in this 17-acre wonderland, including an interactive Sesame Street neighborhood and live character shows guaranteed to twinkle the eyes of true devotees of Big Bird and friends.
The park offers a smorgasbord of engaging activities for those itching for more than just a dip. Tango's Gotcha Celebration is penciled in for July 12-14, and if your stomach growls louder than the Cookie Monster, a culinary feast awaits at the Sunny Day Café with "Dine with Elmo and Friends" adding a slice of delectable charm to an already packed summer season. The parade route is set, and the musical play area is tuned up, ensuring photo opportunities around every brightly-painted corner, turning moments into memories faster than you can say, "Sunny Days."
