A man is now in critical condition following a shooting involving Comal County deputies on Sunday. According to a KENS5 report, officers were called to a residence on the 1400 block of Elm Creek Road due to a report of a "suicidal subject."
The confrontation escalated when the man allegedly brandished a firearm, prompting one of the deputies to open fire, wounding the individual. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, providing medical assistance before rushing the man to a nearby hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU), as disclosed by the KSAT report.
The Comal County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the deputy involved in the incident has been placed on paid administrative leave. The case is currently under review by the Texas Rangers to unravel the circumstances leading to the potentially fatal injury.
