
A Dallas man was left dying in a parking lot following a pre-dawn shooting yesterday, sparking a citywide manhunt for the unidentified gunman. The victim, identified as 34-year-old Jamal Cooksey, was discovered with life-threatening gunshot wounds around 2:45 a.m. in the 2000 block of W. Northwest Highway, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Responding to the shooting call, officers found Cooksey shot, lying sprawled on the concrete. Dallas Fire-Rescue rushed him to a local hospital, but their efforts were in vain; Cooksey succumbed to his injuries. The case has since been shrouded in mystery, with police yet to release any suspect description.
