A Detroit man faces serious charges following a deadly shooting that claimed the life of one individual and injured four others. Charles Deandre Carter, 47, has been indicted on charges including second-degree murder, four counts of assault with intent to murder, and five counts of felony firearm, as reported by FOX 2 Detroit.
During what was described as a "verbal altercation" on May 20, incited by a quarrel that Carter was a part of, shots rang out on Ohio Street in Detroit, resulting in the death of Luzell Etheridge, 46, and injuries to others. Found dead with a gunshot wound to the chest, Etheridge's body was discovered lying on the sidewalk in front of his home, according to ClickOnDetroit.
The four surviving victims, a 49-year-old Eastpointe woman, a 31-year-old Southfield man, and two Detroit residents aged 31 and 56, were privately transported to a Metro Detroit hospital for treatment.
