The Detroit Police Department is urgently calling on the community to assist in locating Wynter Brown, a 14-year-old girl reported missing since Saturday. According to an announcement from the Detroit Police, Wynter was last seen leaving her home on Decateur, near Schaefer and Chicago, and has not returned since. WWJ Newsradio reports that authorities have not been able to establish what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.
The search for Wynter has gained urgency, as family and law enforcement officials grow increasingly concerned for her well-being. Standing at 5’4” and weighing approximately 130 lbs, the young teen's disappearance sparked an appeal to the public for any information that might lead to her whereabouts.
Detectives from the Detroit Police Department's 2nd Precinct are leading the search efforts. The police are urging anyone with information to step forward. "If you see Wynter or know where she is, please call the Detroit Police Department 2nd Precinct at (313) 596-5240 or 1-800-SPEAKUP," the police department's post read. They have also encouraged the public to call 911 if they have any immediate information regarding Wynter's current location.
