Detroit residents can expect a medley of sun, clouds, and periodic showers throughout the week, according to the latest weather forecasts. Today kicks off with a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms, with temperatures reaching a balmy 82 degrees despite the risk of precipitation sitting at a mere 20%, as per the National Weather Service. Winds coming from the southwest could pack gusts as high as 22 mph.
By the time night falls, the chance of precipitation jumps to 60% with showers likely arriving after 2 am and conditions cooling to a low around 56. The light wind gusts, transitioning to south southeast after midnight, may give some respite from earlier gustier times. Tuesday's forecast suggests similar rain probabilities, primarily before 9 am, while the high temperature will take a notable dip to around 66 degrees.
Midweek forecasts hint at a break from the wetter weather. Wednesday promises mostly sunny skies with highs around 72 degrees, a welcome change for those seeking clear spring days. The evening, accordingly, will see mostly clear conditions with the mercury dropping to about 49 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
However, by Thursday night, the clouds are expected to gather once more, bringing a chance of showers that could persist into the weekend. But despite the potential for rain, temperatures will remain mild, touching the mid-70s in the day before settling into the upper 50s overnight. Friday and Saturday continue this pattern with alternating moments of sunshine and chances of showers. On Sunday, there will be a rhythm of potential showers amidst the dominant theme of mostly sunny skies and high temperatures once again nearing the 79-degree mark.
