Commuters faced unexpected delays in Falmouth after an early morning crash led to a downed utility pole, obstructing traffic on both sides of RT-28A at Foreman Lane. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation quickly jumped into action, alerting drivers through a tweet to the incident and providing detour instructions, advising motorists to take alternative routes via Thomas Landers Boulevard and Old Dock Road.

The collision, which occurred under circumstances yet to be fully disclosed by local authorities, resulted in no known injuries, according to initial reports. Drivers were cautioned to expect travel disruptions and were encouraged to plan to detour accordingly. As road crews and emergency services worked to clear the scene, MassDOT has been actively updating the public. The road was expected to re-open later in the day once the pole was safely removed and the road cleared of any hazards. In the meantime, traffic updates continued to be provided by MassDOT to assist drivers in navigating the blocked area.
