A fatal traffic accident claimed a life on Monday in Mustang Ridge, Texas, when a pickup truck collided with a dump truck. According to FOX 7 Austin, the crash took place at approximately 5 p.m. on the 15900 block of Camino Real (State Highway 21).
The Mustang Ridge Police Department reported that an officer was on the scene within 10 seconds, rendering aid. Despite the swift response, one victim was pronounced dead and perished at the scene. Officers are working to piece together the circumstances of the wreck, with assistance from the Travis County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety, as they provided additional support on the scene.
Emergency services including Travis County Fire Rescue & EMS quickly arrived at the scene after the officer, took over medical treatment from the initial law enforcement response. However, their efforts could not prevent the tragic loss of life.
