Flames ripped through a local auto shop near Downtown San Antonio last night, with firefighters springing into action to battle the blaze. The San Antonio Fire Department responded to the call at around 7:45 p.m. on the 400 block of Culebra, arriving to find the auto body shop already gripped by the inferno. FOX San Antonio reports that the response team quickly escalated the situation to a second alarm, signaling for additional aid.
The fire brigade was forced to quickly pry their way into the facility, using forceable entry to combat the flames. Despite the potential for rapid escalation, the firefighters effectively contained the fire to a storage area within the shop. Thankfully, the incident concluded with no injuries reported, ensuring everyone's safety in a situation that was primed to burn out of control.
Crews will toil to ensure the scene is secure and to prevent any further incidents until the investigation is complete. "Firefighters were able to gain entry through forceable entry and quickly contained the fire to a storage area within the shop," a spokesperson for the fire department articulated, emphasizing the swiftness of the response and the preciseness of the containment. The full extent of the damage is yet to be determined, as the investigation continues in the aftermath of the incident.
