Get ready to Shake It Off, Garland. Summer in Texas is heating up, and so is the music scene. The Garland Public Library is closing out its Summer Adventure program with a showstopper event for Taylor Swift fans. According to the City of Garland, RED, a Taylor Swift Tribute Band, will be taking over Garland Square on Friday, Aug. 2 for a free concert that's sure to be anything but a Love Story to silence.
The free performance will run from 7 to 9 p.m., giving fans ample time to belt out their favorite T-Swizzle hits. It's a family-friendly affair too, with themed photo ops, and, an array of swap stations where Swifties can trade friendship bracelets—because nothing says 'You Belong With Me' quite like a DIY accessory exchange. Food from local eateries will be up for grabs for those who find dancing works up an appetite.
Attendees are encouraged to come prepared for an outdoor event with their comforts from home like blankets and lawn chairs—just in case you need to rest those dancing legs. The city reminds everyone to bring water and sunscreen, staying hydrated is key in the Texas heat, especially if you're going to be Moving to the beat for two hours straight.
Organized by Garland Public Library, with the support of Garland Friends of the Library and the Downtown Development Office, this event caters to Swifties of all ages. "Paint Your Summer RED" promises to deliver big on entertainment, community spirit, and, those timeless Taylor Swift anthems that inevitably get stuck in your head.
