Healdsburg Police Seek Suspect Damian Martinez Osorio for Attempted Murder Following Violent EncounterSource: Healdsburg Police Department

The Healdsburg Police Department is on the hunt for a man wanted on suspicion of attempted murder and other crimes following a violent encounter in the parking lot of the Healdsburg Community Center. The incident happened last Tuesday, just before the clock struck 10:00 p.m., when officers rushed to the scene after a distress call, only to find a victim wounded in what appeared to be a knife attack.

According to the official report, the victim had been sitting in his car when he saw the suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Damian Martinez Osorio, also known as Gael Leon, allegedly slashing tires in the lot. The situation escalated quickly after the victim stepped out to confront the assailant, who then purportedly tried to stab him viciously. A struggle ensued, leaving the victim with a cut to the hand before he managed to escape. However, he was chased briefly by Martinez Osorio prior to his disappearance into the surrounding creek bed. Despite a rigorous three-hour search by local law enforcement, including help from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and aerial support from CHP's helicopter, Martinez Osorio was not found.

Martinez Osorio is now considered a fugitive, wanted for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and vandalizing multiple vehicles. The Healdsburg Police Department is urging the public to be on alert. Suppose anyone has seen Martinez Osorio or has knowledge about his whereabouts. They are encouraged to make a potentially crucial call to the Healdsburg Police Department at (707) 431-3377 or to submit tips via email at [email protected]. Further details and images of the suspect can be found on the department's Facebook page.
