Clinton Township is about to get a hoppy boost with the opening of HopCat's newest location. The beer-centric gastropub will open its doors on Monday, May 6, at the Mall at Partridge Creek, previously occupied by the defunct BurgerFin. The West Michigan-based hospitality group Project BarFly is behind the newest addition to HopCat's chain, which will feature a vast array of craft beers and famed Cosmik Fries.
Big believers in 'go big or go home,' HopCat is set to impress with a space boasting room for up to 320 guests, a wrap-around bar with 42 craft beer taps, and a music-themed décor complete with a collection of classic vinyl record covers. According to Detroit Free Press, the grand opening week will kick off with plenty of fanfare including an invitation-only ribbon-cutting on May 9. To truly break into the new spot, the public housewarming event on May 11 intends to offer free Cosmik Fries for a year to the first 100 in line.
Not just filling bellies but also aiming to warm hearts, HopCat is to partner with the Humane Society of Macomb County before its official opening. By matching up to $5,000 of funds raised from alcohol sales and donations, they hope to support the shelter's life-saving resources for animals in need. This announcement of corporate kindness was made notably public through an interview, with Executive Director Mike Wilke expressing his excitement for the collaboration with Macomb Daily.
ClickOnDetroit reports that once its doors swing open, HopCat will operate with a schedule fit for all: from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, stretching to midnight on weekends to better serve those looking to unwind after a long week. Saturday's housewarming event is set to not only dish out fries and promotional gifts but also a chance for the community to embrace a new local hotspot.
HopCat's latest expansion in Clinton Township marks the chain's continued growth in the state, being the 10th Michigan location and the 12th overall. As guests eagerly look forward to sinking their teeth into a menu offering a comfort food experience, HopCat simultaneously prepares to cement its status in the local craft beer scene starting this spring.
