In a brazen heist thwarted by vigilant deputies, four suspects were nabbed for attempting to filch copper wiring from a local Houston business. As reported on Constable Mark Herman's official Facebook page, the suspects were initially spooked off on May 26 but had the gumption to return to the scene of the crime, located in the 4900 block of FM 1960 Road West, where they tried to access Centerpoint Energy boxes.
Despite their initial escape, the deputies' persistence paid off when they spotted the suspects sneaking back, driven by the lure of copper. In a quick response, deputies detained them at the site. The suspects, identified as Eric Bornsheuer, Bradly Formanski, Richard Porter, and Christopher Zadora, were no strangers to the law, according to Constable Herman's office. While attempting to hide from deputies, Porter was found holding a weapon, a clear parole violation, and Zadora turned out to be wanted for selling stolen goods.
It became crystal clear who the culprits were after officials combed through surveillance footage. Bornsheuer and Formanski were caught red-handed on camera, hammering down security devices in a fruitless attempt to cover their tracks. "They were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Attempted Copper Theft out of County Court 4," Constable Mark Herman's account documented.
The courts have since weighed in on the matter. Eric Bornsheuer and Christopher Zadora each received a bond set at $500.00, while Bradley Formanski and Richard Porter, the latter being found embracing a parole violation warrant, were slapped with a more modest $100.00 bond each. This quartet of would-be thieves now await their day in court.
