Houston authorities are on the case after a man was found dead in his home on West Little York Road. The grisly discovery was made around 6 p.m. Tuesday evening, with local cops awaiting an autopsy to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death. The man, 36, remains unidentified pending examinations by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Detectives K. Amri and N. Henderson from the HPD Homicide Division were called to the scene after patrol officers responded to a distressing call about a person down at the residence. There, they found an unresponsive man in his bedroom, later pronounced dead by paramedics, according to a statement on the City of Houston's official news website.
The investigation took a concerning turn as a family member claimed the man had returned home on Sunday, appearing to have been the victim of an assault. The unnamed relative noted a strange absence of the man’s personal belongings that ordinarily accompanied him upon his return home.
In an unfortunate turn, it was this same family member who later discovered him unresponsive and made the call for help. The causes behind the man's untimely demise linger in the balance, hinging on the findings of an autopsy that is yet to take place.
Police are reaching out to the public for any leads. They urge anyone with information about the case to get in touch with the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600. The Houston community now awaits answers, hoping for swift justice and closure for the family of the deceased.
