
The Houston community is on high alert as authorities continue their search for 89-year-old Amanda Jones, a local resident with dementia who has been missing since last Wednesday. According to FOX 26 Houston, Jones was last spotted in the early hours at around 1:11 a.m. near the 12900 block of Glenwyck Street, donning a red dress and clasping a black purse, presumed to have wandered off on foot.
Despite the immediate issuance of a Silver Alert, efforts to locate Jones have yet to yield results. The family has taken to social media to amplify the call for assistance, evident in a post shared on the Texas Center for the Missing's Facebook page pleading for anyone with information to come forward and keep sharing the updated alert.
Residents are advised to be on the lookout for Jones, described as a vulnerable senior with a medical condition requiring prompt attention, police and Jones' family are deeply concerned for her well-being insisting her condition renders her at significant risk. Authorities encourage anyone with knowledge of Jones' whereabouts to immediately contact the Houston police at (832)394-1840.
