Authorities in Houston are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified woman found in a state of decomposition near METRO police headquarters. The grim discovery was made at approximately 10:50 a.m. yesterday at 600 Holmes Road, Houston police revealed.
The Houston Police Department's Homicide Division, led by Sergeant W. Elsbury and Detective D. Arnold, is following up on the case, having found the body during a routine patrol in the vicinity of the address mentioned. They are currently awaiting autopsy results from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences which will help determine the woman's identity and cause of death, found in a deteriorated state by officers stumbling across the tragic scene.
According to the official City of Houston news release, the METRO Police Department's unfortunate find has prompted an ongoing investigation to uncover the manner and cause of the female's death.
