Hutto, Texas has officially rolled out the red carpet for David Amsler, the city’s new Director of Strategic Operations. According to a recent announcement, Amsler, climbing the ranks with a background in sales and public administration, has been earmarked as the man to steer various departments toward greater efficiency and expanded growth.
Amsler, who snagged his master’s in public administration from the University of Texas at Dallas, is slated to quickly begin to undertake a strategic role across several departments, including overseeing the City Secretary’s Office, Communications, Emergency Management, and Information Technology. With his hands now set on the city’s throttle, his previous experience with citywide initiatives and software implementation in Mesquite will be key to managing Hutto's burgeoning landscape.
Since his November 2022 entry into Hutto's administration, Amsler has been a pivot, driving improvements throughout every department he's touched. "David’s expertise in cross-department planning has been instrumental in managing Hutto's growth," the city pointed out, highlighting his role not just as a strategist but as a builder of bridges between various arms of the municipal body.
His up-and-coming recognition at the Hutto City Council meeting on June 6 comes as no surprise. Amsler is expected to not just oversee but to dynamically lead the development and implementation of the city’s Strategic Plan. This tactic aims to embolden the city’s long-term mission – a blend of stability and growth that Amsler appears uniquely equipped to balance.
