Court documents indicate that Venegas, a 22-year-old from Lake Worth, faced charges including reckless driving, giving a fake ID to a police officer, and driving without a valid license. Following the arrest, his bond was set at $800, according to Local 10.
The arrest records obtained by NBC Miami show that Venegas was previously arrested for domestic violence in Pompano Beach on May 6, 2023. The victim, described as the rapper's live-in girlfriend, had visible injuries when she was found by authorities. However, the misdemeanor battery case against him was subsequently dropped on May 16, 2023. In the backdrop of the latest incident, Venegas' brother and the other half of the Island Boys, Alex Venegas known as Flyysoulja, took to TikTok and issued a plea, "Free him," showing his support for his sibling.
The rapper hailing from West Palm Beach gained fame after creating a hit song "I’m An Island Boy" in 2021, which currently boasts upwards of 24 million views on YouTube. His penchant for finding himself on the wrong side of the law has become a recurring theme, with the Broward Sheriff’s Office being no stranger to his rap sheet. BSO Deputy Timothy S. Butts recounted the previous domestic violence incident, noting the visible "physical marks and bruises" on the victim's body, as reported by Local 10.

His arrest on Friday was conducted after a traffic stop in the area; Broward County Circuit Judge Deborah Carpenter-Toy is expected to oversee the proceedings of this misdemeanor traffic case.
