Chaos erupted in Jefferson City when a domestic spat turned violent, leading to a woman being charged with shooting her boyfriend, according to officials. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were called to a home on Valley Creek Road following a distressing 911 call from the man who declared his girlfriend had shot him and was still armed. The statement, obtained from WVLT, confirmed that upon arrival, officers discovered the victim with a gunshot wound to his right leg.
The accused, identified as Charlotte Pratt, was caught by police while allegedly brandishing a gun in one hand and a knife in the other as they were trying to make contact with her, police managed to arrest Pratt who was then arraigned on charges of aggravated domestic assault, as per information from WIVK.
The victim, Christopher Stepp, was quickly transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center; however, details on his condition remain undisclosed. The sheriff’s office confirmed that the weapon found with Pratt corresponded to the spent casing located at the scene, closely linking the evidence to the alleged crime, a Facebook post by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office revealed Pratt's immediate compliance upon being given commands to lay down the arms.
Pratt is currently held at the Jefferson County Detention Center while the criminal investigation unfolds in the aftermath of the tense overnight entanglement. The investigation is ongoing.
