The Lebanon Police Department identified the suspect as 42-year-old Steve Yarbrough, who allegedly opened fire at The Ridge Apartments, at 502 Fairview Avenue, WSMV reports.

Responding to a 12:30 a.m. report of gunfire, when officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a woman, who had sustained several gunshot wounds. She was transported to a nearby hospital, here, she died from her injuries, WKRN details.

The ongoing search for Yarbrough extends beyond local boundaries as police believe he might be headed towards West Tennessee, where he previously lived. The Lebanon Police Department has warned that the suspect should be considered "armed and dangerous," and they are urging anyone with information to come forward by calling 911. In the meantime, Yarbrough's description has been widely circulated, along with the green 1998 Dodge pickup truck he was seen driving, spotted with a red lawn mower in the bed, bearing Tennessee tag number BRR2561.

The official statements from the Lebanon Police Department have also extended condolences to the bereaved; "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and loved ones," the LPD said, according to NewsChannel 5.
