Get ready to elevate your summer experience because the Lewisville Public Library is gearing up to be the ultimate destination for adventure and education. Launching its revamped program, Destination Summer, from May 23 to July 27, the library promises an extravaganza of activities ranging from live animal shows to glow paint parties, catering to bookworms and thrill-seekers alike, according to the City of Lewisville, Texas.

The program invites individuals of all ages to participate in tracking their reading progress from May 23 to July 27. Despite the name change, the essence of the summer reading challenge remains unchanged, ensuring participants stand a chance to win exciting prizes, with children and teens receiving the bonus of a free book upon completion. Additionally, attendees can indulge in free classes, events, and an array of activities designed to make every day memorable.

For the younger audience, Monday nights promise entertainment with the return of Monday Night Live, featuring a lineup of animals, magicians, and hula dancers throughout June and July. Tuesdays are dedicated to stimulating young minds with the STEAM Challenge, while Fridays offer the opportunity for families to unwind with a movie matinee. Teens have their exclusive events such as the Glow Paint-Along Party and a Taylor Swift Party (for ages 18 and older).

Adults can also look forward to an assortment of sessions ranging from yoga to crafting, as well as unique experiences like backyard birding and spice blend-making tutorials. Notably, there will be a chance to learn pickleball basics and participate in a Puzzle Swap event on June 22. Additionally, adults can engage in a Trivia night where they can compete for bragging rights against younger participants.

On June 8, mark your calendars for a special event featuring Amy Martin, journalist and author of "Wild DFW: Explore the Amazing Nature Around Dallas-Fort Worth." Martin will share captivating stories and photos of Denton County's wilderness, including her inspiring journey of recovery from a traumatic injury through exploring the natural landscapes of North Texas.
