A man lost his life in a Phoenix apartment complex late Tuesday night after being gunned down, the Phoenix Police Department confirms.
The shooting took place shortly before 10 p.m. near Interstate 17 and Indian School Road, as FOX 10 Phoenix reported. Officers, responding to the scene, discovered 51-year-old Jarvous Washington with a gunshot wound.
Washington was rushed to a hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. As of now, authorities have not taken any suspects into custody, and the investigation is ongoing, as 12News noted.
Details leading up to the fatal incident remain murky, police haven't released specifics about a potential shooter or shooters, but officers expect the area around the 27th Avenue and Indian School Road to remain closed indefinitely as they work to piece together what happened.
