A Northeast D.C. neighborhood has been rocked by a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 40-year-old man, the Metropolitan Police Department reported. The violence erupted on Hayes Street NE on Saturday afternoon, sending shockwaves through the community and prompting a swift response from homicide detectives.
According to cops, the mayhem began at around 1:20 p.m. in the 3600 block of Hayes Street, Northeast, where two men were found with gunshot wounds. One victim, still clinging to life, was quickly whisked away to a nearby hospital for treatment. The second, however, succumbed to his injuries despite the desperate efforts of medical personnel, a spokesperson for the MPD stated.
The deceased has been identified as Ellal Glover. The MPD's Homicide Branch is fervently combing through the evidence, grappling to piece together the moments that led to this tragic outcome and the assailant who remains at large.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
