An individual previously bonded out for armed robbery has been arrested after a frightening carjacking incident in East Point that left one man paralyzed. According to East Point Police, the suspect attacked two men at a gas station on Virginia Avenue early on May 15, shooting one in the chest during the carjacking attempt. Despite surviving, the victim now faces a lifetime of paralysis from his injuries.
The harrowing event unfolded near the I-85 southbound on-ramp, with the suspect allegedly confronting the victims as they refueled. Soon after the incident, police released surveillance images hoping to elicit information from the public that would lead to the assailant’s capture.
