A shooting rattled residents of CB Lofts apartments on Cheshire Bridge Road as a man was shot during an attempted burglary in his own home. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, encountered an intruder leading to a violent confrontation late Monday night, according to Atlanta Police.
The Atlanta Police Department has been on the scene investigating the incident, which they believe occurred when the victim came home to find his door forced open. As reported by Atlanta News First, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the arm before fleeing with victims safe.
A neighbor, identified only as Josymar by FOX 5 Atlanta, shared that he heard a loud noise followed by the building's fire alarm. Upon investigating, he witnessed two men in black hoodies carrying bags, one of whom brandished a firearm. Following the frightening exchange, Josymar and his cousin discovered the victim bleeding in his apartment and promptly called for help.
Details on the suspects remain scarce, with detectives seeking any valuable doorbell camera footage from residents. Josymar told FOX 5 Atlanta that authorities were working to identify the gunmen. The Atlanta Police Department urges anyone with information about the robbery to come forward.
