
A domestic dispute in Converse turned violent last night when a man shot a woman multiple times before shooting himself. The incident happened just before 10 p.m. at a residence on Cheyenne Bluff; the woman managed to call for help while suffering from her wounds, as KENS 5 reported.Converse Police quickly responded to the scene, discovering the woman on the front porch and the man unconscious inside the house, both in critical condition.
Initial findings suggest the violent act followed the couple's recent break-up, the woman was awake and able to inform the police of the man's actions before he shot himself police believe he was attempting to commit murder then suicide. The man, if he survives, is expected to face aggravated assault charges, as stated by law enforcement officials. The tragic scene was discovered by police who were summoned by the wounded woman's call for assistance.
The crime, which unfolded in the 8600 block of Cheyenne Bluff, also involved three children, who, according to KSAT, were present in the home during the shooting but were unharmed. Further details are scarce as detectives continue to piece together the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
The condition of the man and woman remains critical, with the woman hospitalized after the multiple gunshot wounds and the man also receiving medical attention for the self-inflicted gunshot wound the two were rushed to the hospital immediately after the police arrived.
