A man was shot and wounded late Friday night in Seattle's Chinatown-International District, sparking a manhunt for the shooter who remains at large, police say.
The gunfire erupted around 11:19 p.m. near the intersection of 6th Avenue South and South Jackson Street. According to the Seattle Police Department's Blotter, officers rushed to the scene to find an adult male with a gunshot wound to the leg. Despite their quick response, the assailants had vanished into the night. The injured man received on-site medical aid before being transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he is said to have non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses provided the police with a harrowing account of the events, with the victim allegedly ambushed while simply walking down the street. A vehicle drove up and the occupant(s) began to unleash a barrage of bullets at him before speeding away. Investigators are now piecing together the circumstances that led to the shooting and are urging the public to help identify the suspects.
