Starting this fall, full-time employees will be given two additional days off, with one in the fall semester and another in spring 2025. Part-time workers at Manor ISD aren't left behind under the new initiative. They're set to receive proportionate mental health days aligned with their working hours. However, employees won't have the ability to roll over these dedicated off days from semester to semester. Beyond the mental health days, there's an ongoing discussion about enhancing staff remuneration. A proposed 1% raise may be in the cards, with the potential for a boost up to 3% contingent on the fall election's Voter-Approved Tax Rate Election (VATRE) decision. According to KVUE, the VATRE outcome could also pave the way for hiring more campus police officers and social workers, while expanding student mental health programs.

The subject of compensation is slated for further analysis at the Board of Trustees meeting on May 20. Manor ISD is exploring the option of a VATRE, which, if approved, not only ensures a salary increase for staff but also furnishes funding essential for bolstering campus security and mental health initiatives.
