A young man's life was abruptly ended in a hail of gunfire in Southeast D.C. this past weekend. Metropolitan Police Department detectives are knee-deep in an investigation following a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 19-year-old male identified as Naheem Worley of Upper Marlboro, MD.

The incident unfolded in the dark, early hours of Saturday on the 1300 block of Congress Street, Southeast. A call reporting the sounds of gunshots sent officers rushing to the scene at about 12:40 a.m. There, they found a Worley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the swift response of DC Fire and EMS personnel, signs of life were absent, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The Metropolitan Police Department is now asking for the public's assistance in shedding light on this heinous act. They are urging anyone with information to come forward, assuring up to $25,000 for tips that lead to an arrest and conviction in connection with the homicide.
