A gas leak in Miami prompted emergency crews to rush to the scene outside a fire station and instigate street closures, as reported by WSVN. The Miami Police Department has put barricades in place after the leak was discovered Tuesday at Northwest Seventh Avenue and 36th Street.
Officials indicated that while a company was engaged in concrete piling work, the unintended rupture of a gas line occurred. Following the incident, TECO Gas responded to the scene and took measures to cut off the gas supply in the vicinity. The response teams, equipped with yellow tape and traffic cones, worked determinedly to mend the leak.
In an effort to ensure public safety and facilitate the urgent repair works, all traffic along Northwest Seventh Avenue from 36th Street to 44th Street and on 36th Street between Seventh and Ninth avenues was rerouted. According to a post from X of Miami Police Department's traffic alert, these closures are having a significant impact on local traffic patterns.

Authorities are working with the goal to restore normalcy to the bustling streets of Miami, hoping to reopen roads within a few hours. While the thoroughfares stood empty, save for the presence of emergency responders, the officials have not cited when exactly the roads will be open to the public again. Residents and commuters are advised to seek alternative routes in the interim to dodge the impacted areas.
