The Miami community exhaled a collective sigh of relief as authorities confirmed the safe recovery of Abdul A. Olawale, a 13-year-old boy who was reported missing on Tuesday from the Overtown area. Local law enforcement informed Local 10 that Abdul was found in good health, though details surrounding his temporary disappearance remain undisclosed.
In the efforts to locate the young teen, who was last seen earlier Tuesday, Miami Police had circulated a flyer providing a description of Abdul, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 110 pounds, last seen wearing a burgundy shirt, khaki shorts, and beige shoes. The department also issued an appeal to the public, urging anyone with information to urgently come forward and help to quickly bring Abdul home. According to the flyer retweeted by the official Miami PD Twitter account, the community was instrumental in aiding this successful outcome.
While Abdul's whereabouts during his absence have not been revealed, the prompt action of the Miami-Dade Police Department and the engagement of the community were key in ensuring the boy's safe return. The Miami PD took to social media to extend "a special thanks to those who retweeted his flyer," an acknowledgment that represents the department's appreciation for the public's support as stated on their X account.
