A Miami woman, Angelina Andreoli, 29, has reportedly been arrested after carrying out cosmetic procedures without the necessary medical license. Local authorities conducted an undercover operation at a clinic where she was allegedly providing the services, according to a report by Local 10 News.

Andreoli is accused of practicing medicine without a license among other charges. She allegedly offered Botox injections and lip fillers at prices ranging from $350 to $400 for Botox and $400 for the fillers, police stated. The undercover operation involved a Miami police detective, who managed to successfully set up an appointment via WhatsApp to undergo cosmetic procedures on a Wednesday, NBC Miami reports. The sting operation took place at Hamilton Health Center on Coral Way, where Andreoli was immediately detained after preparing to perform the agreed procedures.

According to the arrest report, a receptionist at the clinic handed a consent form to the detective, which had Andreoli's signature listed above "doctor name." A subsequent police investigation confirmed that Andreoli held no medical license to conduct such activities in Florida. After an initial consultation about the treatment areas on the detective's face, she began to prepare for the procedure; it was at this point that the detective signalled for Andreoli to be taken down by tactical officers.

Repercussions of treatments by unlicensed practitioners have been highlighted in a recent health warning issued by New York officials after three individuals came down with botulism symptoms post-Botox injections. Consequences of such unauthorized medical acts can range from muscle paralysis to severe respiratory issues, and even death, "according to the New York City Department of Health," as noted in the Local 10 News article.

Now facing serious charges, including practicing medicine without a license and unlawful use of a communications device, Andreoli was held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $7,500 bond with a magistrate hold, as per jail records.
