A Douglas County man, missing since Saturday, has been located several states away in Missouri, law enforcement confirmed. Hossain Tariq Khan, reported as having diabetes and bipolar disorder, was found safe according to a statement from the Georgia State Patrol, ending the Mattie's Call issued for his disappearance.
Khan, 35, was last seen around midnight on Saturday on Greystone Lane in Douglasville. Described as 5-foot-8, weighing 175 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, he was believed to have been driving his 2012 black BMW sedan at the time of his disappearance, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. Officials said he is bipolar, and diabetic but does not take any medication.
Local enforcement in Missouri were the ones to locate Khan, according to the sheriff's office. The circumstances of his journey to Missouri were not detailed, but finding Khan several states away from Georgia underscores the unpredictability and expansiveness of such searches for missing individuals. Rescinding the Mattie's Call signifies a successful end to an ordeal that began days ago, and it brings relief to those involved in the search and to Khan's community, as reported by Atlanta News First.
